Shannon Elliott Eaton, 37, of Gainesville passed away on July 12, 2012.Shannon was born on November 19, 1974 to Charles and Susan Elliott in Gainesville. Shannon worked as a Dental Hygienist. Shannon was attending the University of Florida in pursuit of a Nutrition Degree, to be followed by Dental School. Shannon's greatest joys in life were her family and friends, traveling to new places, the beach and all of nature, experiencing new foods, reading, dancing, and her cat Daisy.Shannon is survived by her husband, Derek Jeffrey Eaton of Gainesville; her parents: Charles Elliott of Starke, FL and Susan Elliott of Ocala, FL; her sister Erin Elliott of Portland, OR; and her sister Wanda Holder of Woodstock, GA; and too many beloved friends and family members to name.Shannon and Derek composed a poem together to celebrated their wedding in the Bahamas in 2003, they would like to share this poem with all of you in the hope that you will embrace the lives you have every day.The whisper of the surf,Our link with the earth.The rolling of the waves,The way for our love paves.The changing of the tide,The beginning of our new life.In lieu of flowers, donations for a Nature Memorial to Shannon's life can be sent to:Derek Eaton: Shannon Eaton Memorial Fund, 2317 SW 13th Street, Gainesville FL 32608.
