Shelby Jean Cassell

Mrs. Shelby J. Cassell, 76, of Starke passed away at her home, Friday, June 12, 2015. She was born Pike County, Kentucky on September 8, 1938 to the late Ples and Laura (Baker) Slone. Mrs. Cassell has been a longtime resident of the Starke area and was a homemaker. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Starke, serving at the food pantry every month and being in the ladies circle. Mrs. Cassells husband Bernard had preceded her death. Her survivors are her three children, Susan Frink of Davenport, Shawn Cassell of Starke and Debbie Wright of Greenup, Kentucky. Also left behind are two out of thirteen siblings; Lawrence Slone of Newberry and Geri Rowe of Elkhorn City, Kentucky along with three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Cassells life was held Wednesday at 11:00 am inthe Starke First United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 620 E.
