Mrs. Shelby J. Snipes, age 84 of Keystone Heights passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Gainesville following a short illness. She was born May 30, 1937, in Kayford, West Virginia to Kenneth and Dreama (Pitt) Bradshaw. Mrs. Snipes was employed with Anchor Hocking Glass Container for many years until her retirement. She was a Southern Baptist and was very active with her grandkids. Being outdoors working in her yard was a great passion of hers. She enjoyed life and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a grandson Jerrimy Sumner; brothers Russell, Gary, and Kenny. Mrs. Snipes is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years Gene Snipes of Keystone Heights; children, Timmy Hackney (Tina) of Green Cove Springs, Tammy Snipes Browning (Charles "Stewart") and Kevin Snipes all of Starke. She was lovingly called "Granny" by Jason, Garrett Hackney, Christopher Sumner and Travis Ryan Horne and great grandchildren Paislee, Xavier Sumner and Elijah Sumner. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the graveside followed by services beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Jackson officiating.
