Shirley Fay Scott passed away August 20, 2015. She was born on December 18, 1937 and raised in Veentura, California. After marrying the love of her life, Merton Leonard Scott, Jr., on June 16, 1954, they spent much time traveling across the United States with their six children, for vacations and because of Mr. Scott's Navy career. She spent her life being a homemaker for her husband and children; in fact, she loved babies so much that she had a daycare for several years. Over her lifetime, she liked trying new hobbies and professions, from working at McDonalds to working with animals in obedience classes. The other love of her life was her gardening, with many hours spent in her gardens and with gardening clubs.She settled in Jacksonville, Florida, with her husband after his retirement, where they lived until she went to be with the Lord. Mrs. Scott was predeceased by her husband, Merton Scott Jr., her parents, Everet and Dorothy Oliver, and her twin sister, Charlotte Palmer. She is survived by her brother, Keith Oliver, her sister, Christine Lomelli, her six children, April (Jon) Carlson, Mark (Bette) Scott, Robin Scott, Janice (Myke) Long, Joy (Curt) Hopperstad, and Merton (Stephanie) Scott III, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.A viewing will be held at George H.
