Sigfredo "Rocky" Ventura Miranda

Mr. Sigfredo "Rocky" Ventura Miranda age 72 of Keystone Heights passed awayWednesday, March 4, 2020, at the V.A. Hospital in Gainesville. He was bornApril 12, 1947, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Nazario and Josefa(Ventura) Miranda. Prior to retirement Rocky served over 20 years in theMarie Corps Special Forces along with serving many years in the United StatesArmy. He served during the Vietnam War and earned the Republic of VietnamGallantry Cross along with numerous additional medals and badges. Rockygrew up in the Catholic faith and was attending Lake Side Baptist Church withhis friends; he was a member of Am vets Post 86 in Keystone Heights andenjoyed riding his motorcycle, reading, tinkering and he loved going to thebeach. Survivors are his children Ruth Gentner, Joey Miranda, Renee Leonardi,Jimmy Miranda, Anthony Miranda, Sasha Miranda and Daniel Beyer. Also leftbehind are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A party for Rockywill be held at a later date with interment at Brigadier General William DoyleNational Cemetery in New Jersey.
