Simeon Thomas Wall

WALL: Simeon Thomas Wall (Buddy) Wall Jr., passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 15, 2017 under the care of Community Hospice of NE Florida. Buddy was born on December 18, 1922 in Eclectic, Alabama. At the age of 3 his family moved to Tallassee, Alabama. Buddy was very athletic in football and basketball while in High school. He loved college ball. Go Bama/Roll Tide. In later years he loved the game of golf which he played for many years. Buddy moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1944. He joined Pierce Wall Co. and later moved to Newsome Furniture and retired at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Jean Wall, 2nd wife Emma Wall and son- in-law, Sgt. John T. Thornton, U.S.M.C.. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Wall; 3 daughters, Mildred Harrod (Charlie), Connie Jones (Frank), and Kim Wood (Tracy); Granddaughters, Shelly Thornton, Allison Akins (Todd), and Great-granddaughter, Brooke Akins; Buddy wanted to thank everyone that helped him through his life. He loved his old high school buddies all his life and kept in touch with most of them. He had many friends from Jacksonville to St. Augustine, Florida. He loved his family, his church family, and looked forward to the day his Lord called him home. He left us with many stories and wonderful memories. For all who knew Buddy Wall, he could tell a great story. He loved us all. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206 or Community Hospice of NE Florida. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in Franklin Street Baptist Church with Dr. Terry Gore officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the church. Entombment will follow in Evergreens Garden Cloister Mausoleum. Arrangements under the direction of George H.
