Stacie Colleen Thornton passed away on February 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), following her diagnosis on Halloween 2025. Throughout her journey, she showed incredible strength, courage, and grace, never giving up even on the hardest days.

Stacie was one of the most loving souls you could ever meet. She had an enormous heart, especially for animals, and her compassion for others was deeply felt by everyone who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and selfless love left a lasting impact on all whose lives she touched.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is now reunited in heaven with her mother and two brothers.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Willard and Susan Thornton; her children, Clayton Thornton, Sheila Wimbley, Jenna Salcedo, and Lacee Wesley; her beloved grandchildren, Weston Strickland, Devin Johnson, Jade Johnson, Jonah Chiadikobi, Julian Salcedo, Theo Salcedo, and Marcus Owens Jr., whom she loved deeply; her longtime partner and best friend, Shawn Cassell; and many other family members and friends who loved her beyond words.

Stacie will be remembered for her loving spirit, gentle heart, and the unconditional love she gave to those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 13th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home in Starke, where a service will be held at 2:00 PM.
