Steve Alan Bishop

Mr. Steve Alan Bishop age 72, of Keystone Heights passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at his residence. He was born October 29, 1946, in Jacksonville to Harrison H. and Glenda (McLaney) Bishop. Mr. Bishop graduated with the Class of 1964 from Lee High School and played football at Furman University. Prior to retirement Steve worked as a mortgage broker for many years in the Jacksonville area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and many other outdoor sports; he was also an avid reader, woodworker and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Most recently Steve enjoyed being retired, living on the lake and cheering for the Gators and the Jaguars which were his favorite teams. He was preceded in death by his father Harrison Hardy Bishop. Survivors are his loving wife of 51 years Audrey F. Bishop and their two daughters Stephanie Bishop and Lori Bishop (Brad Lafer). Also left behind is Steves mother Glenda (McLaney) Bishop and his sister Jan Baker (Peter). Steve will be fondly remembered as "Poppy" by his eight grandchildren Bishop, Mitchell (Ellen), Sebastian, Mercedes, Charles, Olivia, Nicholas and Dorien along with his two great grandchildren Brooklyn and Bentley. A memorial service for Steve will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shawn House officiating.
