HAMPTON, FL - Steven James Israel, age 61, of Hampton, Florida, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at his home in Florida after a long illness.Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, November 5, 1950, he was the beloved son of Estelle I. (Sack) Israel of Portsmouth, NH and the late Solomon Israel. A graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1968, he went on to graduate from UNH with a bachelors degree in sociology.As a self-employed contractor, he had worked in various locales and was also an accomplished woodworker. Steven was a true adventurer, who loved to travel and always felt at ease where ever he went, but was especially taken with Hawaii, where he lived for several years. He was a lover of all animals, being partial to cats and dogs and enjoyed watching movies of all genres. Steven was a member of Web Whisperers.In addition to his beloved mother, he was the beloved brother of Paula I. Pressler and husband Ronald of Amesbury; and Judith Israel of New York City; and beloved uncle of Lauren Pressler of Amesbury and Matthew Pressler of Belmont, ME.The family wishes to extend special thanks to Judy J.
