Tanner Daniel Thornton

Tanner Daniel Thornton, 22, of Jacksonville, Florida entered Gods glorious kingdom on Friday February 3, 2017. Our beloved Tanner was one of the kindest souls. He always put other people's needs before his very own. At just 22 years of age Tanner was so determined, strong willed, caring & full of love. He was so motivated and he desperately wanted to make his loved ones proud each and every single day. Tanner loved music, watching football, hanging out with his friends & family. Tanner loved seeing the ocean and being at the beach here in Jacksonville. He loved productivity and always had his eyes on the prize. Tanner meant more than words will ever be able to elaborate upon. He was always a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. He always knew exactly how to make anyone laugh. Tanner was preceded in death by his step-father, Stephen Harris. Tanner was born to, and is survived by, his father Randy Thornton (Toni) of Lawton, Oklahoma & his mother Jacque M. Vantyle-Harris (Paul) of Ocala, Florida on October 30, 1994 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Tanner is also survived by his older brother Tyler Landon Thornton; his sister Chelsea Dawn Thornton; sister Nichole Harris; brother Kyle Harris all from Jacksonville, Florida; sister Cassandra Thornton of Clinton, Iowa; Miranda & Abigail Gillian of Greenwood, Arkansas; 4 nieces Cadence, Haleigh, Hannah & Rileigh; 3 nephews William, Chandler & Brighton; paternal grandparents Pete & Elda Greathead of Charleston, South Carolina; maternal grandparents Larry Vantyle of Nashville, Arkansas & Paul and Anita Dawes of Clovis, New Mexico and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.The family will receive friends on Friday February 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. Jacksonville, FL 32216. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery.
