Teila Norman Pearson

Mrs. Teila (Norman) Pearson age 62, of Starke passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Shands UF in Gainesville. Teila was born on October 2, 1956 in Starke and was a lifelong area resident. Prior to retirement she worked for the Bradford County Tax Collectors office for 39 years and was elected County Tax Collector from 1992 until her retirement in 2012. Teila was a member of the First Baptist Church of Starke, Altrusa International of Starke and was a former longtime member of Starke Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed spending time on Kingsley Lake, riding jet skis, taking cruises and family vacations. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her grandmothers, Ruby Ritch and Freida Norman. Survivors are: her husband Ronald "Ron" Pearson of Starke, her parents, Leroy G. Norman, Jr. and Murl (Ritch) Norman of Starke, sons: Chad Mercer of Lawtey and Jason Pearson of Kochi, Japan, brothers: Dale Norman of Tampa and Eric Norman of Starke. Also left are her grandchildren: Lily Mercer, Lela Mercer and Emily Pearson. Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Starke with Pastor Scott Crook officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following memorial services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
