She made many life long friends at church and loved her "birthday ladies" who celebrated and shared a meal for each special day.Her hobbies were sewing, crafting, collecting dolls, antique hunting and was an avid reader. She could hit a baseball on the first try and dunk a basketball with no trouble. Her sewing though was her passion and made everything from Barbie doll clothes, dolls, quilts, and stuffed animals to a wedding gown.Thelma loved working and before she became a stay-at-home mom for 13 years she was the Office Manager at US News and World Report in Chicago. Then after a time raising children went back to work as the Office Manager of Tom Barrow Company until she retired in the early 2000's.Thelma's favorite place to be beside her home was the beach. She always made sure to save enough every year to go to Sunnyside, FL where she loved floating in the water and watching the children and eventually the grandchildren play. The family is at peace knowing she is now well and happy with her Lord Jesus.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 3PM in the chapel George H.
