York Care Center in Gainesville. Ms. Griffis was born n in Starke on November 1, 1923 to the late Vasco and Mandy (Lowe) Griffis. Along with being a member of Laura Baptist Church, Ms. Griffis was in the Red Hats Society and a retired Clerk for Priest Dollar Store. Her survivors include her two brothers: Earl Griffis and James Griffis both of Starke, many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be on Thursday January 29, 2009 from 6 8 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday January 30, 2009,in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Burial will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery.
