Theo Boofer, best boy, mountain hiker, dinner-table beggar, and expert level napper, crossed the rainbow bridge on May 30, 2025, in Keystone Heights, Florida.Born in Anchorage, Alaska to Brittany and her family, Theo began his journey as a bold Great Dane-Black Lab mix. Later they moved to Texas and Sarah was blessed to be his new furever mom. From the moment he trotted out of that garage, tail wagging and heart wide open, Theo became Sarah's ride-or-die. Together, they tackled early adulthood, job changes, cross-country moves, heartbreaks, healing, and so many hikes. He was the king of Texas dog parks, a Paw Pals favorite, and a gentleman hiker in the Georgia mountains. He enjoyed long walks along the Chattahoochee River sniffing everything like it was his patriotic duty.Theo retired in Florida in 2021, where he perfected the fine art of beach strolling, garage supervising, and theatrical dinner begging. Though his legs grew slower, his heart stayed strong and so did his ability to let out a surprise fart and leave the room like nothing happened. He is survived by his deeply grateful and heartbroken human Sarah, Matt and all the shop friends, his first mom Brittany, Papa, Diego, Fido, Emmy, Mason and countless friends who had the privilege of knowing him both human and canine.Theo is also the first dog ever to have a memorial at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home. If thats not legendary status, I dont know what is. And while he may be gone from this earth, hell never be far from our hearts. In his honor, we gather not just to grieve, but to celebrate: to laugh, share stories, and transform a space of sadness into one of love, connection, and maybe a few joyful tears. Thats exactly what Theo wouldve wanted to bring people together, and remind us to always lead with kindness and loyalty. May we all live like Theo: loyal, silly, gentle, curious, forgiving and always ready for snacks.
