Theta Jacqueline Montgomery

Mrs. Theta Jacqueline Montgomery, age 83, of Starke passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016. She was born on November 21, 1932 in Ocala to the late Walter and Edith (Downing) Farnell. Mrs. Montgomery was a graduate of Lake City High School and in 1952 she and her husband had moved to Starke where she was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Starke. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of her family. Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband of 65 years, David, and their two children, Janet Hughes (Tim) of Green Cove Springs and Alan Montgomery (Carole) of Jupiter. Also left behind are her two sisters, Marjorie Byrd of Oklahoma and Delma Phebus of Mount Carmel, Illinois along with four grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Montgomery will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Moore officiating. The family will begin receiving one hour prior services beginning. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Lake City.
