Thomas Arthur Bowman of Jacksonville, affectionately known as Poppy by family and friends, passed away July 25, 2016, to meet the Lord and Savior he loved and lived for. Born February 12, 1938, in Marietta, Ohio, to Kenneth and Wilma Bowman (and brother Ken), Tom lived in Wooster, Ohio, before moving to Florida as a teenager. He was a Navy veteran, having served two years before starting a career with Western Union in Sarasota in 1958. Tom also worked as a Snap-On Tools dealer in Jacksonville and property manager for University Blvd. Nazarene Church. Tom loved his family and lived to spend time with his five grandchildren, teach Sunday School, deliver Meals on Wheels, and hunt in the flat woods of West Florida. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan (Glover); children Todd Bowman (Pam) of Jacksonville, Kelli Munn (Troy) of Jacksonville, and Kara Trees (Jonathan) of Nashville, Tennessee; and beloved grandchildren Tyler Bowman, Shelby Bowman Johnson (Brian), Megan Trees Rich (Curtis), Marlena Trees, and Gena Munn. Family and friends will remember Tom at a Celebration Service Sunday, July 31, 2016, at 2:30 pm at University Blvd. Nazarene Church (3930 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, 32216). The family will receive friends at the church at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, Toms family requests that any memorial gifts be made to University Blvd. Nazarene Church towards a new church sign, a project that was close to Toms heart..MemorialSunday, July 31, 201602:30 PM University Boulevard Nazarene Church3930 University Boulevard, SouthJacksonville, FL 322164140 University Blvd S Jacksonville, FL 32216 f: 904-739-81594747 Main St N Jacksonville, FL 32206 f: 904-353-0763
