Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Culbreth, Sr., age 86, of Jacksonville passed away at his home, Tuesday, November 24, 2015. He was born in Jasper on October 25, 1929 to the late William Ed and Berta (Bradshaw) Culbreth and had PROUDLY served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, he was a fabricator for Horton Company. Mr. Culbreth was a member of West Meadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville and enjoyed fishing and playing BINGO. He enjoyed eating out at various restaurants and traveling, especially to Biloxi, MS where he enjoyed playing 21; he also did not miss attending any funerals, but most of all he did love gatherings especially with his family. Mr. Culbreth was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and his partner of 40 years, Louise Prater. His survivors are his three children; Gloria Adams (Butch), Thomas "Tommy" Culbreth, Jr., and Sandy Hannan (Robert) all of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Hope, Lisa and Traes; five great grandchildren, Kaile, Karyl, Khole, Michael and Breanna and one great great grandson, Gatlin; a sister in law, Louise Culbreth; several nieces, nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews, also left behind are two additional grandchildren, Jonathan and Crystal. Funeral services for Mr. Culbreth will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at Keystone Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
