Mr. Thomas "Tom" Daniel Gillmore age 78, of Keystone Heights passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at the V.A. Hospital in Gainesville. He was born October 1, 1939 in Salamanca, New York to Bradley and Jennie (Phillips) Gillmore. In 1957 he joined the United States Navy and dedicated 21 years of service before retiring as Chief in 1978. While serving in the military he had received numerous awards for his dedicated service. Following his first retirement from the United States navy, he then started a new career and retired a second time as a QA Specialist from the Civil Service. In 2006, Mr. Gillmore made Keystone Heights his home; he was of the Presbyterian Faith and enjoyed golfing, bowling and listening to Elvis. He was also a member of Am vets Post 86 in Keystone Heights and loved being a Florida State Seminole fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death also by his two sons David Mills Gillmore and Thomas Daniel Gillmore II along with his son-in-law Michael Higginbotham. Survivors are his loving wife of 59 years Marjory Ann (Freyermuth) Gillmore and their daughter Janean Higginbotham both of Keystone Heights along with eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Gillmore will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 in the Jones Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors.
