Obituary

Thomas Wayne Hemmerly, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on April 13, 1961, in Nashville, Tennessee, Wayne was the son of the late Harry Hemmerly and Kathy Dixon. He grew up in Nashville where through hard work and dedication achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Goodpasture Christian School.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Susan Hemmerly; his daughters, Kaya Ahmed and Isabella LaFontaine (Adam Leddy); his son, Harrison Hemmerly; his grandchildren, Alyse Leddy, Dacia Leddy, Willow LaFontaine, and Ledger Leddy-LaFontaine; and his brothers, Patrick Hemmerly (Theresa), Ken Dixon (Sunee), David Dixon (Naomi), and Greg Morgan (Velvet).

Wayne's natural love for people fueled a long and successful career in sales of movie theater products. He later became co-owner of Crown Service Termite & Pest Control. Whether selling popcorn or pest control, Wayne's focus was always on relationships. If he loved you, you knew it—and to be his friend was to become part of his family.

Outside of work, Wayne was a faithful member of Farley Community Church, where he enjoyed serving on the security team. A man of deep faith, he found peace in scuba diving, woodworking, and sharing regular Sunday dinners with his family. He delighted in good food and long meals filled with conversation and laughter.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday October 26, 2025 at the Farley Community Church, 12302 Bell Rd. SW., Huntsville,  AL 35803.
