Mr. Travis Andrew Long age 46, of Gainesville, FL passed away on August 15, 2021 at Shands UF following a brief illness. Travis was born on December 5, 1974 in Sac City, Iowa and moved to Gainesville in 1998. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church. Travis served in the Army National Guard and worked as a meat cutter for Publix supermarket. He played football for Iowa Central Community College, was an avid football fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Florida Gators, and his adored NFL teams the Chargers and the Cowboys. He also enjoyed Indy and NASCAR racing, and his spare time was used for all types of gaming. Preceding him in death was his father, Andrew Conrad Long, his grandparents, Kenneth and Beryl Long of Lake View, IA and Lloyd, Sr. and Burnice Mandernach of Sac City, IA. Survivors are: his mother, Lin Mandernach of Gainesville formerly of Sac City, sister, Tristine Birk of Gainesville, nephew, Andrew Birk, niece, Lillian Birk both of Gainesville along with many other friends and family members. A memorial mass will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd St., Gainesville, FL 32607. The family will have a fellowship time following services at, 4500 Sherwood Trace, Gainesville, FL 32605. Interment will be at a later date at Ferguson Cemetery in Lake View, IA.
