Valerie Lynn Johnson, nee Hightower age 51, of Starke passed away at her home Saturday, December 20, 2014. She was born in Ocala on May 10, 1963 and was a homemaker and a graduate of Bradford High School. Valerie was a Christian lady who enjoyed life to its fullest. She enjoyed being active and outdoors on her hobby farm with her horses. Valerie was known for going out of her way to care for others especially her children. "The worlds a little dimmer without her radiant smile." Valerie is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jonathan David Johnson and their two children, Brittany Johnson of Jacksonville and Jonathan Johnson, II of Keystone Heights; Parents, Ben and Louise (Scroggin) Hightower, III of Tennessee; one brother, Ben Hightower, IV of Duluth, Georgia and one sister, Vicki Gauthier of Lake City. Also left behind is Valeries mother in law, Carolyn Johnson, three brothers in law and their families, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 with Rev. Arthur Johnson officiating.
