Velma Jane Roark

Mrs. Velma Jane Roark age 70, of Elkton passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center. Mrs. Roark was born on December 18, 1944 in St. Augustine to the late Henry Clay and Janie (Osborne) Wilson and was a longtime area resident. Velma was a trained EMT Paramedic and owned and operated the first cell phone store in Starke among many other endeavors. She loved the Family Worship Center of St. Augustine, attending yard sales, and taking cruises. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Marie Andrews, siblings, Tracy Abourezk, and Elbert A. Evans. Survivors are: her husband Dennis "Buddy" Roark of Elkton, children: Gordon Wayne Baker (Kim) of Keystone Heights, Christy Michelle Kotowski (Lance) of Melbourne, and Brandi Darlene Johnson (Andy) of Wauchula, siblings: Ronald "Ronnie" Wilson (the late Jan) of Jacksonville, Carol Wright (Buck) of St. Augustine, Elaine Dykes (Berry) of Pensacola, Darlene Godwin (Bobby), JoAnn Cox (Steve), Annette Hamilton (Terry), Jenny Mann (J.D.), Rebekah "Becky" Crawford (Gene) all of Hampton Lake. She is also survived by her daughter Tinas children, Colton Clemons and Richard Lee (Jenny) with their daughter Allie Marie, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL on Friday, October 30th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday morning October 31, 2015 at 11 oclock in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Reverend Dennis Roark, Reverend Nonie Adkinson, and Reverend David Levines officiating.
