Mrs. Vera Lee Starling Nugent age 89, of Starke passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Riverwood Health & Rehab in Starke. Mrs. Nugent was born in Bradford County on December 26, 1924 to the late Benjamin James and Daisy Starling and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church and had attended Air Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Nugent enjoyed sewing, quilting, listening to music, dancing and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul C. Nugent, Sr., three brothers, William, Johnny and Benjamin, one sister Lucille and a daughter in law, Carol Nugent. Survivors are her children, Paul Nugent, Jr. of Starke, Donna Martini (Ralph, Sr.) of Port Charlotte, Diane Tierney (Mike) of Starke, Linda Roberts (Larry) of Brooker, James "Jimmy" Nugent, Sr., Glenda Padgett (Marty), Ronald Nugent all of Starke, Elaine Collings (Buddy) of Debary, Richard Nugent and Daniel Nugent (Missy) all of Starke; three sisters, Thelma Moss, Ardelia Gossett and Eunice Gunter all of Starke. Also left behind are her 28 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 6 -8 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Reverend Roman Alvarez officiating.
