Mrs. Vera Lynn OwensbyMrs. Vera Lynn (Pick) Owensby, age 67, of Fleming Island, Fl., formerly of Aiken, S.C. , died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 in Orange Park Memorial Hospital. She had been an Alzheimers patient for the past 8 years. She was born on May 5, 1944 in Centralia, Il., the daughter of James W. and Loretta D. (Manning) Pick. Mrs. Owensby was an accomplished artist, and enjoyed golf, tennis and swimming.While living in Aiken, S.C. she and her husband owned and operated OwensbyBuick-Cadillac, Inc. and later Owensby Buick-Pontiac-GMC, Inc. Mrs. Owensbywas a member of Eagle Harbor Golf Club of Fleming Island and attended OrangePark United Methodist Church.She is survived by her husband Gary K. Owensby, her daughter Cristen Cobb of Fleming Island, Fl., her son Bradford M. Owensby of Aiken, S.C. and twograndchildren, Ryan M. Cobb and Sarah N.
