Verna A. TracyVerna A, Tracy of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Gainesville and Hawthorne passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home. She was born in Elberton, GA to the late George Walton and Jessie (Fowler) Brown. Mrs. Tracy graduated from Miami Senior High and St. Louis School of Mortuary Science. She was Vice President of Tracy Funeral Home in Miami and was an embalmer. Verna was a member of Rich Pond Baptist Church, the Quota Club, Womens Club, a Sunday school teacher, and W.M.U. president at Flagler Street Baptist Church, all in Miami. Mrs. Tracy moved to Bowling Green from Gainesville in 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband George Edward Tracy, brother: George Brown, and sister: Corrine Traver. Survivors are: her daughter: June Tracy Alcott (Fred) of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren: Marla Fitzwater of St. Marys Parrish, Jamaica; Lori Chilton of Atlanta, GA; Cindy Murrill of Advance, NC; six great grandchildren: Daniel Chilton of Parris Island, SC; Paul Chilton and Mark Chilton of Atlanta, GA; Jack Murrill and Jayla Murrill of Advance, NC; Kayla Murrill of San Antonio. Funeral Services were Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM in Bowling Green, KY;Graveside services will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Hawthorne Cemetery.
