Vernon Joel Forsyth

Mr. Vernon Joel Forsyth age 79, of Hampton passed away suddenly Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Shands Hospital in Starke. He was born March 10, 1939, in Hampton to Joseph Bradley and Maggie (Green) Forsyth and had served in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, Mr. Forsyth had been a Supervisor for Sunland and had also worked as a Corrections Officer. He attended the Church of Hampton and had a talent for playing musical instruments. Mr. Forsyth also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marion Jacqueline Forsyth, two brothers Leaston Forsyth and Otis Forsyth along with his sister Ina Forsyth Horne. Mr. Forsyth is survived by five children Linda Forsyth Navarro whom he also called "Sam" of Eunice, Louisiana, Lorrie Parrish of Starke, Rhonda Jones of Middleburg, Annette Mae of Ocala and Blake Parrish of Lake Butler. Also left behind are thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of additional family members. Funeral services for Mr. Forsyth will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor John Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at Santa Fe Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 620 E.
