Vernon Reddish

Mr. Vernon Reddish age 84, a lifelong resident of Bradford County passed away at his home Thursday, October 4, 2018, following an extended illness. He was born March 11, 1934, in Bradford County to P.D. and Ruth (Sapp) Reddish and was the third of seven sons. Mr. Reddish retired from the Department of Corrections, but was best known for his love of farming cattle and poultry in Bradford County for many years. He was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Brooker and when he wasnt farming he would enjoy reading. His proudest accomplishment was his family in which he loved spending time with at the lake. In addition to his parents Mr. Reddish was also preceded in death by his brother Glenn Reddish and brother-in-law Ervin Andrews. Survivors are his devoted and loving wife of 58 years Sylvia (Paulk) Reddish of Starke and their two children Barry Vernon Reddish of Raiford and Lisa Reddish (Billy) Gault of Starke; five brothers Drew (Ada) Reddish, Dolph Reddish, Jimmy (Sandra) Reddish, Mike Reddish and John Arthur (Barbara) Reddish all of Starke. Also left behind are his sister-in-laws Linda Reddish and Faye Paulk Andrews both also of Starke. His grandchildren Dylan (Stephanie) Gault, Mackenzie Gault, Jackson Reddish, Avery Dave Reddish and Colby Reddish lovingly called him "Papa". The family will receive friends in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel Sunday, October 7, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Starke with Elder David Crawford and Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either New Hope Primitive Baptist Church 3026 W.
