Raj, Vinay, 83 of Gainesville passed away at home on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. Vinay was born in Tellicherry, India on May 2nd, 1930 and was a retired International Banker in New York City. Vinay had a Masters in American History and studied the Revolutionary and Civil wars extensively. Vinay was very involved in local politics and the Alachua County Democrats.Vinay is survived by his daughter Sapna Raj (Dr. Surya Kumar) of Memphis, TN and a grandson Aakash.There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 W 23rd Ave., Funeral service will be private for his family.
