Vincent Santo Saladino, 73, of Jacksonville, died peacefully on October 7, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born March 29, 1941 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of the late Lorena C. Saladino Montoto, father, Frank P. Saladino and step-father, Antonio Montoto. He spent his entire life in this area, attending Immaculate Conception Elementary and Bishop Kenny High School. Vincent served eight years in the United States Marine Corps. After a career with National Distributing Company he retired in 2006 and went to work at the Duval County Courthouse as a bailiff until his death. As an active member of Blessed Trinity, he served as an usher for numerous years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Vincent leaves behind family including his son, Vincent (Carina) Saladino; daughter Elena (James) Sorce; brother Frank (Marie) Saladino; sisters Helen Oxford and Lorraine Montoto; two nephews Frank (Amy) Saladino Jr. and Anthony Saladino; niece Maria Oxford and great niece, Lorena Saladino all of Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246, on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the Rosary recited at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, with the Reverend Jhon Guarnizo as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main Street. A special thanks goes to Community Hospice of Saint Vincent's.
