Virgie Lee Jackson

Mrs. Virgie Lee Jackson, age 72, of Orange Park passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Orange Park Medical Center. She was born July 7, 1943 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Cornelius and Sally (Berry) Jackson. She had moved to Orange Park last September from Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Jackson was of the Baptist faith, a loving mother who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, traveling, as well as being a "Sports Mom" and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed watching Western Shows and Wheel of Fortune; she also loved listening to Keith Sweat and Johnnie Taylor music. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by three siblings. Survivors are her seven children; Marie Jordan of St. Anne, IL, Rosauna Harris of Atlanta, GA, Sally Belt and Rhonda Blake both of Minneapolis, MN, Veronica Erving (Dwight) of Orange Park, Lucious Washington, III and Antonio Romeo Newman both also of Minneapolis, MN. Also left behind are her four siblings, Cornelius Jackson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, twin sisters, Barbara Jackson of Denver, CO, and Irma Jackson of Minneapolis, MN, and Diama Jackson of Atlanta, GA; twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and the father of her children, Lucious Washington, Jr. of Brooklyn Park, MN. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home with Pastor Cornelius Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Honorary pallbearers for Mrs. Jackson are Cornelius "Flee" Jackson, Shannon Jackson, Dana Jackson, Jumoke Jackson, Stacy Jackson, and Da'Londa "Bear" Jackson.
