Mrs. Virginia Milliken Mawyer 81, of Grandin passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Roberts Care Center in Palatka. She was born November 5, 1939, in Key West and was a homemaker and child caregiver. Mrs. Mawyer was raised in the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading, going to the beach, and drinking coffee. Prior to retiring as a caregiver she enjoyed getting together with her friends every Wednesday after work and going to the movies. Mrs. Mawyer was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Margaret (Blankenship) Milliken. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years Edwin "Ed" Mawyer and their children Debbie Lazic of Keystone Heights and Evan Mawyer of Baudette, Minnesota along with three siblings Jesse Milliken of and Karen Whitehurst both of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Vicki Rizzo of Nokesville, Virginia. She was lovingly known as "Grandma" by four grandchildren Chase Hale, Devon Hale, Annamarija Mottl and Alexandra Lazic and three great grandchildren Gracelyn Wall, Sidney Wall and Kalia Hale. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brandon Denmark officiating.
