Virginia Elizabeth "Betty" Scheich Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Betty Scheich, 77, will be held at 10:00A.M. Friday in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South with Rev. Karen Heistand, Chaplain with Community Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Born October 8, 1935 in Atmore, Alabama, Mrs. Scheich died Monday, December 17, 2012 in Jacksonville after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville she was a graduate of Landon High School, Class of 1953 and was a retired Home Mortgage Underwriter. She was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Wilda Huggins and a brother, William Huggins. Mrs. Scheich is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Valerie (Michael) Whelan; a son, Kerry Dale (Denise) Gilbreath, Jr., both of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Jo Huggins of Mission Viejo, California; five grandchildren, Kerry, Courtney and Camden Gilbreath and Wallis and Caden Whelan; and two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and London Gilbreath; and her grand-dog, Porter.
