Vivian M. "Mary" Genung, 96, of Jacksonville passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2014. She was born in Royersford, PA on December 10, 1917 to Emidio and Spiranza Capoferri. Mary married her husband Benjamin in 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church in Spring City, PA. They had five children and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1965. Mary enjoyed having friends over for an authentic Italian dinner, and in later years was known as the "Cookie Lady" at St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she was an active, much-loved member. Mrs. Genung is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin, a daughter Dolores Schwoyer and a son Benjamin Jr. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Bob) Melato, Michelle Genung, and Renee Roath; three grandchildren Natalie (John) Mills, Nathan (Lynn) Schwoyer and Mary Rose Melato; and 6 great grandchildren, Madeline and Aidan Hunt; Cassandra, Charlotte, Hannah and Kaiden Schwoyer. Visitation is at 10 am, and funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, December 4, 2014, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 3976 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207, with Pastor Thomas Hanson officiating.
