Mr. Von Russon Mitchell, 76, of Green Cove Springs, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Jacksonville Naval Hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born August 20, 1935 in American Fork, Utah to the late Otto Mitchell and Florence Russon. He served in the United States Navy for 25 years, serving on several ships, and as the Chaplain for the Fleet Reserves Unit 126 in Jacksonville. He is survived by his children; Ranae Mulford of Southwest Hampton, Iowa; Victoria Billter of Green Cove Springs, Florida; Mark Mitchell of Yucca Valley, California; Paul Mitchell of Yucca Valley, California, and the mother of his children Barbara Mitchell, of Yucca Valley, California as well as 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and numerous Step Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vonda Mitchell and by his Granddaughter, Misty. A memorial service will be held at the Fleet Reserve Association of Jacksonville on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00 A.M.
