Mr. Warren Gary Johns age 77 of Jacksonville passed away at his home, Monday, September 8, 2014. Mr. Johns was born in Lawtey to the late Ernie C. and Mary (McCormick) Johns. He had served in the United States Army and retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Jones Road Baptist Church and Moose lodge 2020 in Jacksonville; he also volunteered with the Senior Citizens and enjoyed camping trips with his family and closely following the weather reports on television. Mr. Johns was preceded in death by his siblings, Clyde Johns, Morris Johns, Lucille Johns Mosley, Mary Lois Johns Bowen, and Clifford Johns. Survivors are his wife of many years, Vivian (Redding) and two children, Kevin A. Johns of Jacksonville and Brenda Johns Dean (Greg) of Orange Park. Also left behind are his two grandchildren, Hunter and Camden Dean along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Ron Kimbrell officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the services.
