Warren Petersen Jr., 64, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on April 16, 1961, in the Bronx, New York, to Warren Petersen Sr. and Eleanor Petersen, who lovingly survive him.

Warren proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years, carrying the honor of that service with him throughout his life. A true New Yorker at heart, he was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. His interests were as wide ranging as they were passionate—he enjoyed anime, especially One Punch Man, and found joy in cooking, particularly pasta dishes. Warren also had a deep appreciation for gaming and technology, hobbies that kept his curiosity and creativity alive.

Warren was a father. He leaves behind seven children: Warren Petersen III, Kiandre Petersen, Chiana Petersen, Bradley Fessale, Jaynee Petersen, Levar VanBeverhoudt, and Emmanuel Leath. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kiyomi Petersen and Khlani Petersen, as well as three siblings: Wil Petersen, Wayne Petersen, and Monique Petersen, and an array of nieces and nephews, all of whom will continue to cherish the bond they shared.

Visitation will be held 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2026, at Moloney-Hewell Funeral Home. Following the visitation, Warren will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., where full military honors will be rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard. A reception will follow at Moloney-Hewell Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
