Mr. Wayne Edwin Douglas, Sr. age 85 of Starke passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in Jacksonville. He was born September 21, 1935, in Brooker to the late Cecil Lacy and Mildred (Colson) Douglas. Mr. Douglas was a 1954 graduate of BCHS and served in the National Guard for 8 years. He retired from Enron Corporation (Florida Gas) following 30 years of employment and loved being a Real Estate Broker for 55 years. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Rotary Club where he previously held office of Secretary and received the "Paul Harris Award"; he also enjoyed being outdoors riding his tractor, clearing land, and meeting new folks. Mr. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years Shirley Harley Douglas, children Jacqueline Bailey (Rick), Dianne Graudons (Kent), Wayne E. Douglas, Jr. (Lola) and Christopher Harley Douglas (Rhonda). Also left behind are siblings Frances Crosby, Claire Noegel, Margaret Dyal, Jean Parrish (Wayne) and James Edwin Douglas. He was loving called "Papa or Pops" by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021, in First Christian Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Tom Moore and Pastor Charles Soper officiating. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 507 W. Call Street, Starke, FL 32091.
