Mr. Wayne R. Homer 71 a lifelong resident of Keystone Heights passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 12, 2021, at his home in Crescent City. He was born February 6, 1950, in Jacksonville to Marvin and Virginia "Virgie" (Parrish) Homer. Following his graduation from KHHS where he played football, Wayne joined the United States Navy. After his service he spent many years as a talented carpenter building and renovating homes in the area. Wayne loved old westerns, coin collecting, hunting, fishing, and GATORS Football, but most of all he loved his 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Those who knew him best reminisce about his funny sayings and his classic politically incorrect humor. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Christopher Allen Homer. Waynes survivors are his children Marisa Rae Harte, and Kelly Matthew Homer (Katherine) all of Denver, North Carolina and his siblings Ronald Homer and Melanie Reid both of Crescent City. He was lovingly called "PAPA" by Austin C. Wilson, Ciera N. Parrish (Brett), Logan T. Wilson, Evelyn R. Homer and Cali A. Homer. There is a Memorial gathering at the gravesite of Christopher Homer in the Keystone Heights Cemetery on Saturday April 24th @ 10am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American heart Association. Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E. Walker Dr., Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
