Funeral services for Wendell Joseph Davis, 69, who passed away on September 20, 2014, will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 with Pastor Perry Fruscella officiating. The family will receive friends Friday (Today) from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Davis was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and had attended Calvary Temple. Mr. Davis was an avid Florida Gator's Fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce Edmondson Davis; 1 daughter, Denise Samuel; 1 son, Tim Davis (Joy); 1 sister, Theresa Cremeans (Wayne); 1 brother, Richard Davis; 7 grandchildren, DeWayne L. Davis, Timothy Joseph David, Alexis Davis, Cody Fuller, Austin, Justin and Morgan Samuel. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tim Davis, DeWayne Davis, Timothy "T.J." Davis, Cody Fuller, Austin Samuel, Justin Samuel, and Morgan Samuel.
