Wendell Debril Harrington Funeral services for Wendell Debril Harrington, 81, who died April 21, 2012, will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 with Dr. Terry R. Gore officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday (Today) from 6-8 Pm at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mr. Harrington was born in Taylor, Florida and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. He was a native of Taylor, Florida and a longtime resident of Jacksonville. He attended Andrew Jackson class of 1950 and during high school he had worked as an Usher for the Florida Theatre and was a lifeguard at the Springfield Pool. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict and retired from JEA after many years. He was a member of Franklin Street Baptist Church, Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine, York Rite, Grand York, and Royal order of Jesters. He also held membership in Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #2134 and American Legion Post #400. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, the late Louise Harrington; Survivors include his daughter, Kim Harrington Price; 4 nieces, Nancy Olds, Gayle Davis, Joyce Fields, and Wanda Osbourne; 2 nephews, David and Buddy Harrington; A special caring friend, Susan McGettigan; and many friends.
