Wesley Gordon "Wes" Hunt

Mr. Wesley Gordon "Wes" Hunt age 85, of Melrose passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Gainesville. Mr. Hunt was born on August 29, 1930 in Mansfield, Ohio and moved to Melrose from Ocala over 8 years ago. Wes served in the both United States Air Force and the Army. He held a doctorate in Theology and served as a Pastor in Ohio for many years. Mr. Hunt was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Keystone Heights, was previously active with the G.A.R.B.C. and enjoyed Golfing and Politics. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jo Hunt. Survivors are: his wife Mary (Perry) Thompson of Melrose, daughter: Shellee Corner (Terry) of Monroe, NC, son: Jeffery Allen Hunt (Sally) of Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH, 7207 State Road 21 in Keystone Heights on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 11 oclock.
