Mr. William "Bill" Carver, age 82, of Melrose passed away in Gainesville, Saturday, December 19, 2015. He was born in Jacksonville, May 24, 1933 to the late Tillton Melvin and Reda (Carter) Carver and had served in the United States Army. Mr. Carver was a longtime resident of Melrose and had retired from the State of Florida. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife in their motorhome. Mr. Carvers grandson Jeremy Miley had preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Pickett) and their three children; James Ralph Carver and Annette Griffis both of Raiford and Gene Allen Carver and his wife Cheryl of Ft. McCoy; four siblings, Jackie Fewox, Millicent Spillers, Evelyn Boyette and Ruth Carver all of Jacksonville. Also left behind are Mr. Carvers eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Carver will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 24, 2015 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charles Alvarez officiating.
