With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father and Pepa, William Derryl Cone, who left his earthly home into glory on October 22, 2023 at the age of 77. He was born on September 17, 1946 in Monticello, Florida. Derryl was preceded in death by his father Edward Calvin Cone, Sr., mother Willie Beatrice Cone, step-mother Jan Cone and brother-in-law Tom Bass.His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of 48 years, Selina (McNeese), three children, Amanda (Bobby) Tharp of Grand Island, FL, April (Brian) Snyder of Middleburg, FL, and Ashley (Christopher) Burrell of Hiawassee, GA and seven amazing grandchildren, Isaiah Burrell, Colton Snyder, Noelle Burrell, Dixon & Brantley Snyder, Judah Burrell and Emersyn Tharp. He is survived by his siblings Edward Calvin Cone, Jr. (Janice), Larry Algeo Cone (Connie), Glenda Cone Bass, numerous nieces & nephews as well as step-siblings Martha Smith, Patricia Whitehead (Jim) and Dama Murphy.Derryl was a devoted family man. He was a loving and supportive husband, a caring father and a wonderful Pepa. His presence was a constant source of comfort, and his wisdom was a guiding light in the lives of those he held dear.Derryl proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 until 1972. He devoted much of his career to Clay Electric Cooperative in Keystone Heights and retired in 2012 after 27 years of service.Derryl had a love for all sports, especially football, more specifically, his Seminoles. In his early years, he enjoyed playing golf. Derryl always looked forward to his many vacations with his dear wife & family. Some of his favorite destinations were Alaska, the Great Smoky Mountains & The Blue Ridge Mountains. He was fond of late nights watching Andy Griffith in his Lazy Boy with his ole pal Barney eating popcorn & drinking RC Cola.The family will be receiving guests for a visitation at First Assembly of God in Keystone Heights, Florida on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. with a celebration of life service to immediately follow at 11 a.m. Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of a man who touched our hearts & left an unforgettable mark on our lives.So many lives were forever touched by this amazing man who broke the mold when he entered the world.
