William L. Eddy, 92, died on October 21, 2013 in Gainesville, FLBill was born July 30, 1921 in South Bend, Indiana, and raised in Columbus, Indiana. He received a Bachelor's Degree in business from Indiana University.In the F.B.I., he served in Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Albuquerque and Miami. He was a security supervisor in New York and a criminal supervisor in Miami. He was a member of the Former Agents of the F.B.I. since 1976.Bill served in the U.S.N.R. from 1942 to 1946. He was a pilot instructor at Pensacola, FL and served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Lexington. He retired in 1961 as a Lt. Commander.He was employed as director of security at the Ocean Reef Club, Largo, FL, 1975-1976. Bill was Chief of Investigations, State of Florida, Department of Insurance Fraud Division, 1976-1982. He retired to Gainesville and was a member of Grace Methodist Church.His wife, Charlotte Buxton Eddy died in February 2002 and his wife, Dixie Galloway died November 2011.
