EDENFIELD William P. (Billy) Edenfield, Sr., 84, of Jacksonville, FL, went to be with our Lord on January 23, 2021.Born on October 10, 1936 in Oak Park, GA, Billy was the eldest child of Vernon and Lillie O. Edenfield, and lived a life full of love and devotion to his family and friends. After graduating from Landon High School, Billy started his career in the automotive paint business working for Arnold Paint Company and retired with FinishMaster after 60 successful years in the industry. He also proudly served in the Florida Air National Guard for over 31 years. In addition to Billys dedication to his family, career and service to our country, he was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge Temple No. 23 for over 50 years, an active member of Elks Lodge 221 and the American Legion Post 88. He also enjoyed NASCAR (Jeff Gordon was a favorite), was a long-time Jacksonville Jaguars season ticket holder and always cheered for the Florida Gators.Along with his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Sylvia Raybon. He is survived by his dear brother, Richard (Beth) Edenfield and three adored children, William Perry (Heather) Edenfield, Jr., Paul Bryan Edenfield, Sr. and Melissa Ann (Tom) Henricks; seven grandchildren: David, Joey, Jesseca, Tommy, Bryan, Julia and Ashley; and seven great grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews, all of whom knew how much they were treasured and loved.To celebrate Billys life, the family will welcome friends on Sunday, February 7, at George H. Hewell & Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd S, from 3 PM to 6 PM. A private interment will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on a later date..VisitationGeorge H.
