William "Bill: Herbert Ellegood

Mr. William "Bill" Ellegood age 75, of Keystone Heights went to be with his Lord, Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 20, 1941 to the late Herbert and Lorena (Hardin) Ellegood. He was a retired Railroad Clerk and had moved to Keystone Heights in 1999 from Birmingham, Alabama. As an adult he served God in many ways; first, he was a bus pastor and a deacon; then he went on several mission trips to Brazil and Romania building churches. It didnt matter where Bill was, he was always faithful to the Lord. Before moving to Keystone Heights and joining Hope Baptist Church, Bill had been an active member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church in Louisville, KY and Hilldale Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Stephanie Joy Singletary and Chance Ellegood along with two brothers, Buddy Ellegood and Walter Douglas Ellegood. His survivors are his wife of 49 years, Linda Perkins Ellegood and their two children, Lisa Singletary (Steve) and Scott Ellegood; three siblings, Robert Ellegood (Judy), Ronnie Ellegood and Mary Hilk (Norman). Also left behind is his 100 year old mother-in-law, Clara Perkins; a brother in Christ, Ralph Paine (Beverly); four grandchildren, Leslie Ellegood, Tyler Ellegood, Caleb Singletary and Jacob Singletary as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews whom he loved. He will be missed dearly. A memorial service for Bill will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Hope Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to one of the following; American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, National Kidney Foundation or Hope Baptist Church.
