William John Shedd

Mr. William John Shedd, 83, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016. Mr. Shedd was born July 30, 1932 in Clay County, the son of William Walker and Louise W. (Wall) Shedd. He was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was known for his work as an Auto Technician for various dealerships in Clay County. His pastimes included gardening and being outside in the yard, growing his vegetables and tending to them, playing guitar, and always welcoming family and friends into his home whom he loved so much. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joyce (Ortagus) Shedd, brother, Roland Shedd, and his sisters Alfolene Thomas, Kathleen Mullis, and Annie Scully. Survivors are his wife, Pashia Shedd, daughters, Deborah Brooker (Craig) and Jane Hansford (Lonnie), step children, Thomas Russell, Leon Russell (Jennifer), and Katie Marcyes (Ryan), sisters, Joan Goodlatte, and Linda Peters, brother, Edwin I. Shedd, half sister, Josephine Clow, fourteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. A visitation with family will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery Heritage Section with Reverend Ronnie Surrency officiating.
