Mr. William E. "Bill" Larabee, age 85, of Keystone Heights passed away at his home Tuesday, September 22, 2015. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 9, 1930 to the late William E. Larabee and Madeline (Boudreau) Pothier. Bill had served in the United States Army from Nov. 1948 - Sept. 1952 with the 803rd Engineer Aviation Battalion. Prior to retirement, Bill was employed with Pratt Whitney as a welder; during his welding career, he had worked in missile tubes on submarines. Twelve years ago Bill and his wife moved from Connecticut to Keystone Heights; he was a parishioner of St. William Catholic Church, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and enjoyed sitting around and telling stories. Survivors are his wife of 14 years, Pamela (Murphy); one son, Bill Larabee of Westfield, MA; one brother in law, Hollis Murphy (Carolee) of Clinton, CT; 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Jennifer and Courtney; along with 3 great grandchildren, Kendrick, Dominic and Julian. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 5p.m to 7p.m. A memorial service will be at 2p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in the St. William Catholic Church with Father Mike Williams Presiding. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177.
