William (Bill) Joseph Peace passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife, family, and his pastor on October 16, 2021, in Ocala, Florida. He was born on January 30, 1937, in Etowah, Tennessee. At 18 years old, he joined the United States Air Force. He proudly served our country for 4 years, 3 of those being in the Korean War. After serving in the Air Force, Bill began working in the carpentry industry. He was a hard-working man and worked several jobs as a supervisor at businesses such as: Asplundh Tree Company, Chris-Craft Boats, and more. Bill had a son, Joseph Clarence Peace, on October 4, 1961. In 1968 Bill met a widow, Dolores Edwards, and her 5 young children. They were married on November 1, 1968, and together had a son, James Patrick Peace, on December 31, 1970. Bill was a loving, caring, and happy man who was constantly helping others. All who met Bill remember him always telling stories about his childhood, time in the Air Force, and everything in between. Bill is survived by his wife Dolores, of 53 years, and 6 children: Sharon Edwards Layhew, Rick Edwards, Bobby Edwards, Peggy Edwards Link, Joe Peace, and Rusty Edwards. His 2 brothers; Harry Allen Jr and Melvin Allen. As well as 28 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. He was met in heaven by his mother, Mary Kathleen Wilson, his two sisters, Barbara Lambert and Jimmie Peace, and his youngest son, James Peace, who unexpectedly passed away in 2018. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm on November 4th at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala, Florida. Pastor David Lambert will be officiating.
