William "Bill" Roy Samples, 89 of Gainesville, FL passed away on Wed, June 29, 2022 at Roberts Hospice Care Center in Palatka, FLBill was born Thursday. June 1, 1933, in Elkview, West Virginia to Benjamin Roy and Mary Florence (Rader) Samples.Soon after High School he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years. While stationed in Jacksonville, FL, he met Louise Heins and they married in 1956. They had three children, Billy, Lou Anne, and Tommy. He received training as an electrician while in the Navy and founded MidState, Inc. in 1973. Since 1975 he was a very active member of Westside Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy, and his granddaughter, Ambra. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise, his son, Billy (Julie) and daughter, Lou Anne (Rick) along with two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held on Tues. July 5th at 5:30 pm at Westside Baptist Church. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to services.
